Costa Rica is a small and beautiful country, with many treasures and acceptable educational level. But for a small country, it has many influences from other countries: cultural influence, fashion influence, musical influence and many others. Publicity is not an exception. Many times advertisers “create” an advertisement similar to another one from another country. Maybe the original ad is good, but when advertisers make the copy, it is based on the main idea and they don’t take into account the culture of our country. Maybe the advertisement won’t be effective because the people don’t accept it.

For example, a good advertisement is one created by JBQ for JPS (Junta de Protección Social). In this ad, a guy is running and he is struck by a thunderbolt, then the narrator says: “podés esperar que cualquier cosa te caiga del cielo menos plata”. (LINK)
This is an analogy used to invite people to buy “chances” to win money. And some examples of bad advertisements are the series of Mega super’s ads.(LINK)

  1. I think that ads can improve because in our country channels we can find bad and boring ads.
